Ashberry Recruitment are always looking to resource agency Social Workers, Senior Social Workers, Practice/Team Managers, IRO’s and Support Workers for Social Work Teams and Services across the North/North West of England.
This particular requirement is for an Agency Children Social Worker to join our client Rochdale Borough Council in their Family Support & Protection Service.

Rochdale is currently at the very start of an exciting transition into the family safeguarding model. To support us in this transition we need to establish multi-disciplinary teams where specialist practitioners are co-located with social workers under a unified management structure. This enables a multi-disciplinary whole family response through direct assessment. This is a really exciting time for Rochdale and we need Social Workers to support us in implementing this model.

- A manageable caseload of between 20 and 23 children. As the service develops and we get more workers, we aim to get caseloads to 17 to support you in engaging in real direct work with children and families.

We are looking for an agency worker who has experience in child protection work and care proceedings.
We are willing to offer above the standard rates for the right candidates who are able to demonstrate a level of experience and the ability to work with approach that we are taking
Ashberry Recruitment would ask that applicants meet the following:
- DIPSW or equivalent qualification in Social Work and will be registered with Social Work England as a qualified Social Worker.
- Have a full driving licence and car available for work along with business insurance.
- Have an enhanced and in date DBS certificate.
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to make good decisions based on the information available, ensuring effective relationships with other professionals.
- Can work within and contribute to a team.
- Possess knowledge of service needs for ethnic minority communities.
- Have confident IT skills and be able to navigate an electronic file system.
- Can write clear, concise, and robust reports.
- Have a flexible approach to work and working hours when the need arises.
- Contracts are full-time, but part time and flexible working hours may be considered. Contracts are normally offered over a 3-month period before rolling on for another 3 more months at a time.
