Inside work
I am the Co-Founder and Director of Ashberry Recruitment.
Starting out in Recruitment some 20 years ago, I initially cut my teeth in the technical sector before moving into Supported Housing Recruitment, and it’s here where I fell in love with both recruitment and the sector. I have always felt extremely privileged to work with charities and supported housing associations and have been blessed to work with some of the most amazing people in the business, some of whom I am now lucky to call friends.
After working my way up through the ranks to Associate Director with one of the country’s largest public sector recruitment firms, I joined forces with my best friend and Industry expert Jennifer and in 2010, Ashberry was born. Choosing a name that meant something special to us was really important, The Ash of the Ashberry came from the most inspiring person I have ever known, a lady called Joan Ashworth, a lady who was once named Macmillan woman of the year for her efforts to Charity and someone I was very proud to call Grandma! Sadly she passed away before she got chance to see Ashberry in action, but I know she would be extremely proud that the charities we work with support the most vulnerable of society and that we play a small part in that.
As Director, I lead from the front, helping to nurture our brood of talented recruiters. We have created a superb culture here at Ashberry where we all enjoy coming to work and hope this shows in the service we deliver to our clients and candidates. We really are one big family and my drive and motivation is to be the best at what we do, care like no one else and maintain our reputation as a respected and knowledgeable consultancy which adds real value to the people and the organisations we work with.
Outside work
I am a Mum to beautiful Eliza Grace, who is already nearly as tall as me! I enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends, eating out and the odd glass of wine or two! If you know me well enough you’ll know that I could write a book about my husband who never fails to make me smile…
